An Advanced Practitioner is a registered healthcare professional who has completed advanced clinical training and is registered with the appropriate professional body. They work autonomously, as well as collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of conditions within primary care. Advanced Practitioners are also independent prescribers, enabling them to prescribe medications where appropriate as part of their clinical role

Emma has a special interest in women's health, child health, and preventive care. Emma provides support with eight-week baby checks, postnatal examinations, contraception, HRT and menopause care, cervical screening (smear tests), and promoting breast awareness. Emma also delivers a range of adult and childhood injections, working closely with the wider practice team to provide safe, personalised, and high-quality care.

Secretarial Team

The secretarial team are responsible for processing medical reports and referrals once completed by a GP, providing copy records on a patient’s behalf, arranging patient transport (where it is clinically appropriate, this is confirmed by a GP) amongst many things.

Training practice

As we are a training practice, we regularly have registrar doctors in post. We also teach medical students throughout the year please note when calling for an appointment you may be offered an appointment with one of our Medical Students. You will be asked for your consent prior to any consultation or procedure involving the medical students and if the registrar needs to record your consultation for exam purposes. These consultations are overseen by one of the GP/ANP Partners.

The partners also occasionally teach medical students who may ask your permission to be present during the consultation.

GP net earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Hollyns Health and Wellbeing in the last financial year was £50,368 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 9 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
